UTAHSBA Utah Sport Bike Assn.
About
The Utah Sport Bike Association (UtahSBK) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to motorcycle safety, education, and racing. Operating throughout the intermountain west, UtahSBK provides training, mentoring, and racing exhibitions, utilizing 100% of its revenue to support rider development and competitive events. Their racing schedules include Superbike, Supermoto, and Mini Moto series, alongside New Racer Certification (NRC) and Apex Trackdays.
UtahSBK caters to a wide range of rider skill levels, from new racers seeking certification to experienced competitors participating in Superbike and Supermoto races. They host New Racer Certification (NRC) schools and emphasize rider education and safety. The organization considers Burt Brothers Motorpark (formerly Utah Motorsports Campus) its home venue, a 511-acre campus located a half-hour from the SLC International Airport. At this track, the Superbike season splits between the West and East road course configurations, with some rounds on the Outer course featuring a mile-long straight. Additionally, a dedicated Supermoto track offers multiple asphalt and dirt configurations for supermoto bikes.
Distinctively, UtahSBK is a state of Utah non-profit corporation, fully volunteer-run, ensuring all revenue directly supports the sport. With a history spanning over 35 years, dating back to 1986, the association has fostered the growth of influential racers, instructors, authors, and motorcycling advocates. Its founding members include notable figures such as Mitch Boehm, former Managing Editor of Cycle World and Editor of Motorcyclist, and Nick Ienatsch, author of "The Pace, Sport Riding Techniques" and a leading instructor at prominent riding schools. This rich legacy and commitment to community through a volunteer, non-profit structure define UtahSBK's unique position in motorsport.
