CMRA

The Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) is a motorsport organization dedicated to providing a safe, affordable, fun, and competitive motorcycle roadracing experience. Operating since 1974, CMRA is recognized as the home of motorcycle roadracing in Central USA, particularly in Texas. They host two and three-day events from February through November at tracks across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, including prominent venues like MSR Houston and Circuit of the Americas. CMRA events are sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and include a mix of classroom sessions, practice time, and racing.

CMRA offers both sprint racing and endurance racing formats. Sprint races typically range from 6 to 8 laps, while endurance races are team-based, lasting 4 to 8 hours with up to five riders and pit stops. Their solo series also features pro-style races up to 45 miles. The organization caters to a wide range of rider skill levels, from new members and riders as young as eight years old to seasoned amateur competitors seeking fierce competition, with race classifications for motorcycles ranging from 50cc minis up to unlimited displacement Formula 1 machines. To support rider development, CMRA provides practice sessions on race days, full Friday practice days at select events, and a comprehensive CMRA License School designed to prepare new members for competition.
