Carolina Motorsports Park
About
Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) is a purpose-built road racing facility situated in Kershaw, South Carolina, approximately an hour south of Charlotte, NC, and 45 minutes from Columbia, SC. As the only facility of its kind in the Carolinas, CMP offers a dedicated venue for a variety of motorsports activities. The park features a 2.27-mile road course, designed by famed track designer Alan Wilson and opened in July 1999, along with a kart track that commenced operation in 2010.
Carolina Motorsports Park facilitates motorcycle track days by reserving its road course for independent organizing bodies, such as Performance Riding Experience (P.R.E.) and Precision Track Days. While specific rider skill levels for these events are not detailed by CMP, the park aims to provide a family-friendly environment centered around all motorsports, welcoming both experienced racers and general enthusiasts.
What makes Carolina Motorsports Park distinctive is its status as the sole purpose-built road racing facility in the Carolinas. This unique position allows it to host a wide array of track events and provide a top-notch experience for its customers, ranging from competitive racing to recreational track days for various vehicle types, including motorcycles.
